Work Work Work

Well, this week has been rather not great for R2. Although I have all the leg measurments laid out to be able to take it to the machinist to have them attached, yesterday i was unable to go due to my real job. This was very frustrating as the machinist doesn’t have time today to work on it and will be out of town on Friday, meaning that i’m stuck without legs until at least Monday.
I have however been able to work on some other parts while waiting, including building the surrounding boxes for the octogon ports, working more on the internal sound system (which after messing with for a while, i’m thinking i need to upgrade it to the CFIII system), and today i plan to contruct the front vents.
I’ve decided i need to go ahead and start working on the external look and start getting the detail parts ready as much as possible. I’ve also decided that i need to go ahead and mount the holoprojectors and the Radar eye on the dome. I’m setting aside saturday for that, along with more painting.
It feels good to try to write more often than i have been doing, hopefully i’ll be able to keep this up now that I have a new site and it looks decent
And here’s a shoutout to @dawnazgcw for reminding me that i need to post more often

I was fortunate enough to get invited by the MidSouth Garrison of the 501st to help out with a Star Wars promotion they were doing at the FedEx Forum in Memphis, TN to promote the upcoming Star Wars in Concert tour. We got to participate in pregame activities with the crowd and got to actually get on the floor during a time out! After the game I learned I was ON TV!!!

I’ll be headed to Raleigh, NC on May 6-9 for the BrickMagic Festival Presented by TwoMorrows Inc. and BrickJournal Magazine. I’ll be a guest along with Kaminoan to put on demo’s and answer minifig questions. We’ll also have the fineclonier.com shop setup there and in a RARE change, we’ll be selling completed minifigs along with our customary exquisite decals and parts.
